Getting your period for the first time is a rite of passage and it had been ceremoniously acknowledged it ancient cultures, but the significance, love, and honor of menarche got lost over time. It’s time to change the narratives for girls who will become the women of the future to a positive and empowering one. I help the caregivers in the young menstruator’s life create a ceremony that will boost her/their self-esteem and set her/them on a path of confidence and safety throughout her/their life. With each cycle of the moon, we have the opportunity to start anew and rewrite our story. The ceremony is not limited to the first period, but can be held at anytime in her/their pubescent life. This is collaborative work of mother and daughter/menstruator and caregiver(s).
